Telkom phoned and said they had upgraded my area and for an extra R75 a month I can move to 20Mbps adsl from 10Mbps. My modem was reporting my line syncing at 12Mbps before, now it's syncing at 19Mbps. But, I cannot do more than 10Mbps traffic though.
My modems in bridge mode, have a Mikrotik 2011L as the router, with two pppoe connections, one capped afrihost up to 40Mbps they say, one mweb 6Mbps uncapped. I cannot get more than 10Mbps just using the afrihost account, and with both accounts running speedtest (different machines and routing) at the same time, they both jump around 5Mbps traffic totaling 10Mbps.
I've checked my local lan is all 100Mbps full duplex on all ports or 1Gbps depending on the device/pc. Not using wifi.
Anyone got any idea, why I'm hitting a hard limit of 10Mbps? It seems very much a hard limit as I can see it sitting at 9.9Mbps with the occasional 10.0Mbps hit on my adsl line. Something telkom still needs to enable for me perhaps?
