Interesting how the same negative comments keep cropping up whenever the Committee does anything new.
AirFiber is a brand new product in South Africa, CTWUG is the first network to run it live. We are in a unique position to test this hardware and report back to Scoop. As such, it has been received at a vast discount.
There are no projects on the finance page currently that are hampered by spending this money, there is simply no negative impact. Most of the projects use a user-funded model in order to ensure that there is interest in those projects. No point in blowing R10k on a new highsite proposal when nobody benefits from it (aka. people that will benefit should donate towards it).
The Ironman-Diablolix link carries the most traffic on the wug, period. There is no other link that is better suited for this test! Added to that, both Diabolix and Ironman have extremely full nodes, as such the real world impact of noise can be tested as well.
Expecting wuggers to dish out upwards of 15k on a link is insane. There are almost no wuggers that can afford that.
I am sure that if this link is a resounding sucess the Committee will start looking at the next most busy links on the wug and upgrade them each in turn.
Does the Committee really have to ask everyone permission every time they do something? When you voted for them you implied that you trust their judgement. If you did not vote for them, you as part of the collective group, still respect the group's trust in them.
It is truly demoralizing for anyone serving on the Committee to have to put up with this SHIT attitude of people crying "transparency" and "dictatorship" and other crap every time the Committee does it's job.
Quick question to all the detractors, how many of the once very active Committee members are still active today? Wonder why?
