Comms: Problems Saturn Kuilsrivier Sector

Somebody please help? 172.18.65.245 does not seem to ping out. My connection (Capeflyer2) gets stuck at 65.245 for over a week now. Thanks…

seems fine I can ping your RB

and your PC

Is it better?

Saturn rb to dribbel needed a reboot.

I see your ccq is hanging on 10% and the ap is on 5.21. Updating so hopefully that sorts it. Will revert back. In the meantime perhaps reboot your rb.

Edit: Update did nothing, although could just be that you not transferring any traffic so its not an accurate reading. Reboot rb and check!!!

Thanks Toady, will have another look tomorrow at work. Funny thing is my PPTP client does handshakes etc, but no traffic flows. I have not changed anything before the problems started.

Ok i have found the problem. Some one calling himself jamesbond, node 10210, also wanting to connect to Saturn7, have posted my range on his wind page. Can an admin please help so i can have my internet back again please? PS Jamesbond, looks like you cannot connect to this particular sector anyway, you have to use the Brackenfell sector

It appears as though an admin added Jamesbond to Saturn7 and assigned them your IP address. This happened on 01 September, which corresponds to when your trouble started.

Could that admin please give Jamesbond a different IP range? I won’t mention any names :stuck_out_tongue:

This is totally my fault and I apologize.

I went onto saturn-brackenfell-sector where jamesbond wanted to connect and saw that the next /28 that was available was 172.18.64.158/28 and that is the range that I assigned jamesbond. I then went onto the RB750 and saw there was a 172.18.64.0/23 forwarded to the sectors, at this point my thinking was that 172.18.65.0/24(kuilsriver) would be for one sector and 172.18.64.0/24(brackenfell) would be for the sector that I was connecting jamesbond on.

After doing jamesbond routerboard ips it didn’t work(strange), what I did to get it working was advertise jamesbond ips on the sector where he connects and everything was fine. After fixing the problem this morning I came to realize both sectors draw ips from the same range so all clients on both sectors are on 172.18.64.0/24 range and when its full one day new clients will move over to new range 172.18.65.0/24.

I do apologize for any inconvenience this would have cause I have already moved jamesbond over to a new range and send him a mail to contact me. I am busy with a solution for this problem to help network admins. Will keep you guys up to date.

Diabolix, kan jy so gaaf wees om Saturn 7(Kuilsrivier sektor) te re-boot? My konneksie is tans af. Die sektor is aan, maar laat my nie toe om te konnekteer nie (Capeflyer2). Baie dankie.
