Hi Everyone, that time of year where you get the chance to nominate and vote for someone you think worthy of serving on the committee.

Nomination process
You’ll need a nomination and two seconds to be able to stand as a candidate in the election
You can nominate or second as much persons as you like
You can nominate or second yourself
If you have a nomination and two seconds you will have until nominations closing date to accept your nomination.
Nominations will close on the 29th July 2016 11h59pm

Proxy voting
Proxy voting is there for those who can’t make the election and would still like to vote. So if for some reason (work, travel, sickness or who knows what) you can’t make it please feel free to send the elections officer a mail (email details will be given when proxy registrations open)and ask if you can vote by proxy. Please note this is entirely up to the election officer to decide if you have a valid reason.

Last year we ran the proxy vote for a week which we thought then was too much. What happened was that some people had real emergencies and couldn’t attend the meeting to vote and was also not allowed a proxy vote as the registration date has closed. This year you guys will have 5 days to apply for a proxy vote and two day to vote.
Applying for a proxy vote
Proxy vote registration will open 00h01 20th August 2016 and close 20h00 24th August 2016.
Proxy voting will open 22h00 24 August 2016 and close 23h59 26 August 2016.

Election day 27 August 2016

When you arrive at meeting you will be added to the election group on the forum
Only people in the election group can login to election (“probably” using forum login)
You will now be able to register yourself for the election
Once everyone is registered we can open the election
The proxy and meeting election totals will now be added to determin who is your new committee

Please note these awkward times, this is to accommodate the election officer so that he doesn’t have to wait till midnight to close registration and start the proxy election.

7.3. The CTWUG Committee nomination and election will be managed by a member or members of CTWUG appointed by the CTWUG Committee. This member(s) can be currently serving on the committee provided they are not a candidate for election.

@Gordon808 has offered for a second year in a row to take the reigns as election officer. Thank you gordon808 we know you’ll do just a good job as last year.
