It’s that time of the year again and the 8th D-day for CTWUG.
For those that do not know much about D-day, it is our annual fund-raiser to boost our income for the coming year. As you know and would have experienced, CTWUG does not charge any fees for connectivity. To maintain, update and expand our network, we need donations from its members to ensure we can provide a good infrastructure to continue maintenance and improvements of the sites we have.
CTWUG “owns” around 19 sites, some a bit smaller than Rhea, all requiring maintenance at some point, as well as upgrades to try improve our infrastructure to provide better and faster throughput for all the different areas. On top of this, we also pay providers like VPSDime for some server space to host services like our forum, WiND, Chat, etc. Further to these, we also fund projects at private highsites that has potential to improve the user experience some more.
With regard to funding for the above reasons, we need support from our member base to continue our upkeep of infrastructure.

Total connected nodes : 2000+
Average donation per connected node : R25 +/-
The above shows just how little it would really cost to be able to keep our network running the exact way we have it now.
As we know from the past, not all users can afford donations (even as little as the above), some outright refuse any donation. With this in mind, a major plead to all to motivate your WUG friends & family to support us in this.
