Free to air Frequencies

Hi All,

Just needed to know. What is the free to air 5Ghz frequencies one could use to transmit a wireless signal.

I am planning on a single use local network at 1.5KM. According to the current research this is allowable by ICASA and is free to use. I would like to know what the open frequencies are? Been googling around but there is no clear answer.

Thank you

5Ghz, except for the weather radar frequencies around 5500, unless the radio supports radar avoidance.

OK so 5Ghz is the Band but within the band there is certain frequencies?

Anyone know the exact frequencies?

Also been reading through the contruction bylaws for the municipality, apparenty one can legally erect a Coms Tower for the purpose of network traffic that does not include internet traffic at a height of 23m without needed applications. Also the Satelite disk or antenna should not be more than 1.5 in Diameter, there after you would require permission from your neighbours first.

Don’t use 5550-5710.

I’ sure 23m is too high. 15m without premissions/EIA

Depending on your COCT zoning, strictly speaking anything that you put up may require permission from COCT in terms of their by-law. by-law.

These are legal - did a frequency usage scan in winbox

Setting up my routerboard as follows
Channel-width 20Mhz
Country South Africa
Frequency mode Manual-TX-Power

Nice,

Thanks Ogon,
