Here is a link at the new ospf requirements that we will vote on
1.RB’s should have a minimum of a 600mhz CPU - This is to keep up with our fast growing OSPF table.
Routerboards that can take multiple PCI cards such as Rb433ah/gl are only allowed a single OSPF link.
an OSPF link should do a minimum of 60mbps combined throughput (30mbps down/30mbps up) and have a average CCQ of 80% or more.
SXT’s, sextants or Nanobeams are not allowed to run with a TX power higher than 17 due to the wide beam width. - This is to keep noise down as we are running out of 5ghz spectrum quickly and noise is a major issue.
OSPF links should be Dual Polarity complaint.
During gaming time, a link may not have an average ping higher than 5ms when a Test is done for 30 seconds to the router it is connecting to. It should not have any latency spikes of 15ms or more. - This is to keep gamers happy on the network, latency spikes are a major issue currently
If you have any question please ask them in the original post
so the vote for new ospf requirements is for new links specifically. This will reduce the amount of single pole links going up and over all boost ctwug.
For those that cant make it to the meeting, is there going to be a proxy vote? (I may not be able to make it but want to vote )
There will be no proxy vote, as the committee we have the “power” to just enforce the new rules. We feel this a major rule change and would like to have the support of the community.
If all the the new rules are voted in, then yes all new ospf links will be mimo.
