I did plot him & possible link to ASoldier but ASoldier is moving I think the best move for Spartan is to connect to Mars

I would say start there. Ive read the above so must just contact an area admin and get some kit to do a scan. Once we know we what signal levels you have we can go from there.
You haven’t bought Kit yet I hope?
Spartan do you have any kit to scan with. Cosmo is the current admin of Mars I’ll have a chat with him tonight and see if there is any space left on the sector facing you.
Will only then be able to advice you as what your next step should be.

Mars Currently has 2 AP’s facing your way mars7 and mars8 but unfortunately mars 7 is full but there is space is on Mars8,I would suggest we first arrange a test kit for you before you purchase anything.
Also note Mars currently has a Projects up on the finance page to upgrade the site to full duel pole.
I wont be home tonight so best will be to leave me a pm on the forum I will be on IRC tomorrow night again if you have any questions.

Spartan you can also get on your roof and take good quality photos of mars http://wind.ctwug.za.net/?page=nodes&node=5 sometimes a scan is not even needed.

and what is a Wind node ID ?
The pictures are to see if you have line of sight(los) to any near by highsites which would allow you to connect. Generally a good los indicates a good possibility of connecting to a site. As for the Wind node ID. I suggest you read up on this if you haven’t already, http://wiki.ctwug.za.net/Getting_Started, this link follows the getting started guide.
I find the wug to be a learning experience first above anything else, and one of the best ways would be to go through the detailed guides that members have dedicated their time to write.
