Mercury new connections on hold

Hi Guys

We are currently struggling to get access to the roof to do maintenance on Mercury.

The site where mercury is hosted is a military base and a new Base commander is in charge. He needs to see the documents that allows ctwug access to the roof, Tiffie and Bouncer cant find the original paperwork. Last I spoke to Bouncer he has applied for roof access again. I haven’t brought the issue up because I’m hoping that Bouncer will be able to get us access to the roof agian.

I have spoken to @king about this and we decided to not add any new clients to Mercury until the issue is resolved. Clients who have already bought the new gear could be connected but we strongly advise people not to buy equipment before chatting to the southpen admins @king @YawningAngel and @sharkie or any other network admin.

Please once it’s done can you get it signed and scanned and email to committee@ctwug.za.net so we can at least store the original electornically. Perhaps also get the original to anyone on the @Committee

Ok Bouncer has the copies and will be mailing it to comms.

At the moment access to the top floor has been revoked for weekend work (Bouncer working to change this).

They for now will only allow work to be done in the week which is not practical for most of us on a 9-5 job.

HI @SFW do you guys have permission yet to access the roof on weekends? We will need to align the Helderberg link soon.

We have been granted access.

Weekends are a bit of a problem but it can be done , best time is weekdays during office hours which is not ideal for most.

@Ogon When will we be getting a team ready for Mercury ? Bounce needs a date and time.
