Why not rather use the Bellville one until you guys are big enough?

Good idea Diabolox but I saw a whatsapp group was created and think it should be standard to have a IRC channel before you have a whatsapp group for an area.
I also saw 2 or 3 forum post about getting Durbanville populated and there should only be one central place for that. This confuses new users in the area to try and get setup.
I am talking about the #ctwug-bellville IRC channel, not a whatsapp group.
The whatsapp group is more of a friends in Bellville group than a spam group 
P.S Although there is a lot of spam, thanks to Zassie.
