well done boytjies! dis nie enige aap se job daai nie… ek weet
Sorry to ask, but what was your costs for the 14.5m mast. Thanks.
But as i can see with prometheus there where only a couple of short bolts holding it down in the concrete.
If I may ask how high was promethues?
Prometheus was either 8m or 8.5m high and essentially two systems failed when it came crashing down. Firstly a critical staywire came loose when a rawl bolt was ripped from the wall. After finding the rawl bolt on the roof and checking where it once was it’s clear to see that the wall crumbled under the strain and the bolt itself was still intact. To counteract this issue going forward we will install a bolt right the wall and will have steel plates on either side to make 100% sure that it will never be pulled through the wall.
The second failure was when the bolts that secured the baseplate to the roof gave way. These were chemically anchored into the roof and due to the forces exerted on the structure once there were no stays they ripped out the surrounding concrete as the mast toppled. Once again the bolts and the chemical are fine but the concrete was just too soft to handle the strain.
When you put a 30dBi Dish at the top of a structure like this you must just think of the leverage that is created when it’s hit by a strong gust of wind. With the Razor tower you might find that the base will remain intact but the mast will kink if you don’t use stays. If you cant run stays now do to the location an engineer will be able to tell you exactly how much lateral load the structure can take.
King wouldnt it be possible to gooi a strong concrete square down and anchor the base to that?!
Thanks king for the info
Its still standing :hail: I want to say thanks to Sandman for all the help and support with the tower and thanks azure, deathnote and nuclear for the help lifting it up. Nightsight and tubby thanks for the help the other day. lol I almost forget about Johan thanks for all the support with the beers
thanks stiaanm for offering to help and want to supply stays for temp use
Nice job guys . . .:grouphug: :cheer::cheer:Well done, reach for the stars boyz . . . Razor , nou kan jy nog beter sniper vanaf daai hoogte ;). . . how much did the project work out in total ?
Just in time. This wind is hectic.
Awesome Sandman. No beer bottles this time?
Looking awesome! What thickness stay wires?
thats some thick cable
What on Earth is that one staywire connected to in the third picture?
Razor ek dink ek kan jou scan nou op dai hoogte
