This goes out to the 9 clients currently connected to the one sector on Titan. I think the time has come to consider an upgrade to Titan, to split the current connection into 2x 90’ sectors, meaning Titan will cover 180’ to include clients currently falling just outside the 90’ coverage area, causing degradation on the sector links for all clients. It will also take load off the one sector having to serve 9 clients. It will also mean a new RB with additional interfaces.
This will of course involve some donations to get the project going, so I would like to get a feel of what you think.
Hi skinner what equipment are you using currently? Would it be better if you get two 120 degree sectors this will future proof the site from upgrading again soon. Would be nice if current clients could contribute to upgrade rather than moving over. As deathm said apply for ctwug financing.
Also if clients move over to Saturn, remember that Saturn is a mimo site so only daulpole kit will be allowed.
I prefer using 90 degree sectors in my area as you gain one extra dBi
Titan currently has one 90 degree sector covering Bellville/Kuilsriver, but obviously over time more people want to connect as it’s quite a high site (excuse the pun). Using two 90 degree sectors will cover both areas efficiently.
Saturn is SISO, so you don’t need MIMO kit to connect there.
I am connected to Titan and from what I can see I’m hitting the sector from the side, falling out of its actual coverage (kuilsriver/brackenfell). So adding a second sector I feel would be of great benefit to the clients. I’m keen to help and donate towards this project.
I have obtained the application form for finance, and will be getting pricing on the necessary equipment. Will keep you guys up to date. It really looks like this won’t be an expensive exercise, especially since we have 9 clients who can contribute, provided we are all willing to donate.
I would like to ask that if you happen to be close to some of the other Titan clients or see them on IRC, to please make them aware of this proposed project.

I have the form, and will try to have it completed over the weekend. The only information I need now that also needs to go onto the form, is what equipment is currently installed at Titan.
I am on 2 weeks leave in October, so will have lots of time to devote to this project then.
