Hey Guys,

Warlock072 Mast is in full swing, ultimate goal is 12m height, split in 3, 6m base unit and then 2x 3m sections, we also adding a post/cylinder pole from my house to the Mast which we’ll use to run cabling inside straight into the roof! Not sure about this part but we’ll sort it out later!
phase 1 is mostly completed, hole is dug , base is in and filled. hole 2x2x1m deep. I’m not 100% sure what thickness of steel we using but i’ll get back to you on that, below some of the aftermath of phase 1.

i’ll post more pics and info of phase 1 but this was seriously no joke, 1 full day of digging, 1 full day of filling / mixing of cement and many sore bodies! think we used 14 bags of cement and 40 bags of stone , maybe around 500+L of water , alot of sand and then we were still 15cm short ontop LOL. So when we start Phase 2 " the installation of the mast itself" then we’ll look at topping up the hole and make her nice and square.

Stay wires i doubt we’ll need but we have some back ideas around this, the Angle Iron bring used is almost half a inch thick, so im not sure if its needed but we’ll see.

I doubt that I will build a 12m mast without stays althougt that base is gonna be very strong the wind you guys gonna get from the south easter is mad-winds. Maybe i’m just jealous :p. Warlock072 keep up the good wugging.

Just an update, we have the first 6m piece, paint and ready to go, we most likely will completely the install + the last 2x3m pieces this Saturday, wifey permitting!

Update, Phase 2 , Base of mast is up, everything went very nicely, had to do some tweaks here and there but nothing major, we had a awesome turn out from the area , roughly 17 guys pitched to assist! Demented from Delft even came to lend a drill bit or 2. Awesome stuff! Some eye candy…

more pics, it was very easy to get the base up in the end because of the number of people we had.

and the results…as u can see i had to move my stayropes and secured it against the unmoveable mast! its really really f’ing solid I must say! The other pic shows the nice head room we have when put down the last of base cement and cover and good chunk of the legs to make sure she goes nowhere :wink: Phase 2.5 will be a bitch no doubt, getting the 2x 3m pieces ontop!!!
