I would like to know what is the basis for upgrade motions?
I was told that there needs to be a 51% vote in favor, however how does absentee’s/non respondents get counted?
From what I gather through the grapevine was that Europa 2 cannot be upgraded because the current connected node owners don’t respond and therefor it is running the old single chain based hardware. (I just sent an e-mail to all of them to see if they reply).
Can it be that non respondents get factored out of the majority vote to comply calculation? Thus the average pool to 50% gets smaller.
The sectors on Europa are in a very bad state physically. Would be great to upgrade them, but previous attempts to get the clients to pay the 50% to upgrade the sectors have failed as most of them are happy with the few Kbps they are getting.
Turn the sector off and tell them it’s broken and needs upgrade!
Watch how they all respond and the funds are made up in a week tops! xD
I kid i kid! Just hope the people reply!
I’m all for upgrading equipment and what what!
Just remember that any kit donated to a CTWUG HS becomes the property of CTWUG for various such as a member leaving the wug might want the equipment back leaving all the clients stranded of wants a say in who can connect to that sector.
You would be suprised at complaint we had to deal with in the past. One person demanded their donation money back and threatened to take them to court of they didn’t give it back.
That is why you should always have a really good donations T&C (TOS). I had people wanting to reverse up to $1000 pm in Paypal donations some months with my gaming servers. With a good T&C stipulated and acknowledged before they donate I always won the PayPal reversal requests.
